Three little lights, one big change

September 20, 2011

We’ve been shopping around everywhere, looking for the ideal lights.

Friends of ours have great little pendant lights over their eat up bar (take a bow Tracy and Warren) and we were hopping to get something like theirs. Frosted white glass, a little subtle.

But I couldn’t shake the feeling that we’ve got plenty o’white in the kitchen already.

D’Arcy found some clear glass lights that we both liked, but they were $200+ each.

Then, our designer recommended we go to RONA, and check out their lights. D’Arcy sent me an image from the store, I said go for it.

And now that they’re hung, I think not going white was the right call – these match the appliances and handles, (and the hood, should it ever be installed) and are small enough to be an accent, but not overpowering.

Oh, and the cost? $35 each. At that price, we can hang them for a bit, if we don’t like them, we can swap them out.

I turned the other lights off for this pic to emphasize the lights and the intimate light they cast on the bar. Perhaps the perfect place for a drink after the kids go to bed?
